Hilton Head Island, SC - Joan Madeline Mosca, 91, of Hilton Head Island, SC, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Born in Astoria, NY along with her twin sister, Mary Ellen Marsiglia on October 14, 1932, they were the daughters of the late John and Mary O’Rourke. She is survived by her children, John F. Mosca (Joy), Jo Anne Rizza (Tony), Gerard Mosca (Kelley) and Andrew Mosca (Sandy) and her Grandchildren, Steven Milana (Dulce), Nicole Mosca (Drew Mineo), Taylor Milana (Courtney), Jordan Mosca (Amelia), Matthew Mosca, Christopher Mosca. Max Mosca, Shawn Mosca, Lindsay Mosca, Tyler Mosca and her three great granddaughters, Georgia Rose and Maddie Joan Mosca & Violeta Milana.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A Mosca, brother Frank Fey, her twin sister MaryEllen and her son in law Mark Milana. Joan lived a full blessed life raising her family in Mineola, NY, later moving to Middle Island, NY and then finally to Hilton Head Island. She was a devout Catholic and taught religion to children preparing for the First Holy Communion for 25 years.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Island Funeral Home, Hilton Head Island and with Weigand Brothers, Williston Park, NY. Funeral viewing at Weigand Brothers, Monday, April 22, 2024 from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass at The Church of St. Aiden, Williston Park, NY Tuesday at 10 am April 23, 2024.

Joan will be laid to rest alongside her husband, John, at The Cemetery of Holy Rood, Westbury, NY directly following the Mass.
